Our story
Obsessed with flight since day one.
If flying is the language of men, then soaring must be it's poetry.
Precision Built. Passion Driven. SO Who the heck are we?
Aeronautic innovation. Built for the sky.
Aeroic Composites USA is honored to be part of the Aeroic family. Dr. James Hammond is the owner and designer of Aeroic Composite Aviation Products; a company that as its name suggests is involved in the design and manufacture of composite aerospace products; principally high-performance composite aircraft. He has been in the business of designing what could be called large model aircraft; drones as you guessed, for over forty years, and designing, making and flying model aircraft since the age of about seven. He made his first home designed, home molded glider in 1972 -just for reference.
Aeroic Composites as an entity has been in business for 20+ years with Doc Hammond offering services as an outside designer of airframes, mostly sailplanes for other companies such as RCRCM in China where models he designed are still the best sellers in the company product list, and one in particular, the Typhoon 2M enjoys the distinction of being the biggest selling molded 2 M model sailplane of all time, with over 2500 models sold. Recently in the last 10+ years, I has begun to produce my own line of airframes under the name brand Aeroic.
Aeroic models are entirely designed by Doc Hammond. He has made it his business to control and improve quality and standards of fit and finish by steadily introducing new and improved composite construction processes, new methods and new materials all bound to rigid QC checks and audits throughout every process from incoming materials to finished products. The end result is a line of models that have a very high-performance level, a very high-quality standard of fit and finish, and yet can still be purchased at economical prices. Aeroic Composites USA is a dealer committed to connecting as many soaring enthusiasts as possible with the satisfaction of flying Aeroic models. Steve Pasierb leads our team and is responsible for ordering, working with the factory team and all U.S. customer service. Red Jensen is our amazingly talented technical expert based in California, offering guidance and technical assistance to builders of the various Aeroic models we sell. We are also a full-line dealer for CHAServo, Tomas Liu Studio, and KST Servos.
Craftsmanship
Every gram matters. Every surface counts.
We don't cut corners on airfoil design or composite work. The materials, the layup schedule, the molds, the cure cycle — it all shows up in the sky.
Re-engineered Models
100% of the current Aeroic line presented here are recently re-designed and re-tooled with all new molds. As many of you know, I fired my previous manufacturer and, unfortunately, lost all my molds in the process. I took time to redesign and re-engineer all of them; hence, the new Aeroic models are very different from the originals. This can be seen by better fit and finish, servos now mounted in the fins of the airframes, making installation much easier, and a variety of small fitting problems that are now entirely eliminated. However, with well-thought-out modifications, they still fly just as well or sometimes better.
Materials Matter
At Aeroic, we use the best of the best. Carbon is from Japan, resin is from France, and other fabrics are from the very best manufacturers. Spars and some other reinforcement use UHM carbon at 1,000 Psi and above. This is the best you can get for any application. Every Aeroic model comes with (S) standard 100% single-carbon wing, and carbon tissue-surface laminated tail planes! Light and SS (double-carbon) versions are available and built to order. All sandwich skin surfaces use high-grade aerospace foam in the laminate. This results in a finish that is not only nicer but also yields a stronger, more durable structure.
The Things You CAN'T see
As a company, we know our niche. Aeroic is a top-end sports model sailplane company that makes high-performance sports models, and it’s our entire aim to provide the models that will provide the best fun that you can have in this genre. We don’t make racing models per se, though some of our airframes, in fact, most of them, in their classes, are easily capable of competition model performance.
Innovative Sine Wave Spar
The Aeroic sine wave spar gives the most strength in tension and fantastic performance in torsion at half, or less than half the weight of a of a normal box spar. Only Aeroic has this technical innovation. The sine wave beam offers the best of both the I beam and box beam. With the vertical web going from one side of the spar caps to the other side of the caps the sine wave beam is much stronger against torsional loads than the box spar.
